Michelman Earns EcoVadis Gold Sustainability Rating for the Second Consecutive Year, Ranking in Top 5%

Michelman is proud to announce that, for a second consecutive year, it has earned an EcoVadis Gold rating for sustainability.

Michelman’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement across the themes of Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement, and Ethics has enabled us to not just maintain our EcoVadis Gold rating, but to also increase our absolute score to place within the 97th percentile of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis, founded in 2007, has grown to become "the world's largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings." The EcoVadis sustainability assessment evaluates how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) across four main themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

“At Michelman, complacency isn’t in our playbook. True growth demands a razor-sharp focus on what lies ahead. In this instance, making additional progress within the areas of safety, ethics, and governance helped us improve our EcoVadis Gold rating,” said Chuck Hardy, Michelman's Director, Global Sustainability and R&D Systems. “EcoVadis’ evaluation criteria remains stringent. Their complete and thorough analysis of socially responsible criteria include a set of challenging metrics—and we are quite proud of this rating, which reflects our commitment to integrating sustainability throughout our business practices.”

“As EcoVadis ratings have become more prominent throughout the industries we serve, many of our customers inquire about our EcoVadis score. In fact, some customers have established minimum scores for a supplier to be considered,” added Dr. Portia Yarborough, Michelman’s Chief Science and Sustainability Officer (CSSO). “With our 2024 rating, we are continuing to distinguish ourselves from our competition by providing quantifiable, objective improvements across sustainability and CSR criteria.”
