The NurtureYield® family of advanced agricultural coating technologies is designed to improve food security while reducing environmental impact.
Our innovative seed coating technology delivers superior performance to maximize the effectiveness of seed treatments:
NurtureYield® S 3201 offers comparable or better performance when measured against leading commercially available synthetic polymers*. When applied to soybean and corn in combination with widely used seed treatments, it exhibits significantly lower dust-off, superior abrasion resistance, and better appearance, with comparable dry flow and wet flow.
Transitioning to MPF polymers that provide the same benefits as synthetic alternatives enables you to maintain high yields and productivity while growing crops more sustainably.

Michelman offers multiple microplastic-free NurtureYield® building blocks for use in seed coating formulations, including:
We also offer a complete portfolio of synthetic additives designed to improve the performance and processing of seeds in treatment and mechanical planting operations. When applied at recommended rates, marked improvements can be noted in flow and plantability, with options tailored to improve lubricity, abrasion, block resistance, and dust-off prevention.
NurtureYield® C colorants for seed coatings serve both functional and practical purposes. They create a clear distinction between treated and untreated seeds, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and reducing the risk of accidental mixing during planting. Additionally, colorants improve the aesthetic appeal of seeds and can indicate specific treatments, such as pesticides or nutrients. They also aid in uniform coating distribution, helping optimize seed performance and contributing to consistent germination and crop yield.
Fertilizers are essential for treating almost all crops, but their application must be carefully managed to achieve maximum effectiveness. Applying fertilizer in controlled, measured amounts ensures a consistent and beneficial effect on plant growth. Coatings on fertilizers help regulate nutrient release, prevent the loss of fertilizer salts due to washing away, and ensure uniform application of essential nutrients like NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium). However, improper storage or lack of adequate treatment can lead to clumping, powder formation, or insufficient granulation, all of which reduce fertilizer quality and may result in yield losses.
NurtureYield® K anti-caking coatings protect those fertilizers which are most easily dissolved in water and preserve their granular nature. Urea, urea-based NPK, CAN (calcium ammonium-nitrate), or nitro–phosphatic NPK fertilizers are most in need of these coatings, whereas superphosphates, ammonium sulphate, and DAP (diammonium phosphate) do not need anti–caking treatments due to their less hygroscopic nature. Hygroscopicity is affected by chemical composition of the fertilizer, moisture content, ambient temperature, relative humidity, particle structure and porosity, exposure time, and particle surface area.
